Commercial building
Introduction
Commercial building is a structure designed and constructed for mixed occupancy. In cases of mixed occupancy, the entire building must adhere to the most restrictive fire protection provisions outlined in the Code for the various individual occupancies within the building. However, the life safety provisions specific to each occupancy as detailed in the Code will still apply to their respective areas. Exits in mixed occupancy buildings must be arranged to ensure that the means of egress are not reduced in the direction of travel during evacuation.
According to the Telangana Disaster Response and Fire Services Department’s circular memorandum,
• A Fire NOC is required for buildings that exceed 15 meters in height but the setback of these buildings must be as per GO 168 MA&UD
According to the National Building Code of India (NBC),
• A Fire Safety Audit and certifications are mandatory, which shall be obtain by the competent person or charted fire auditor by the council
